This drop-in roller filter was designed specifically to fit inside the rear filtration chamber of the Hello Reef tank without requiring any modifications. It replaces traditional filter socks or filter floss with automated mechanical filtration, removing fine particles from the water column before they have a chance to break down into excess nutrients.
How It Works – Smart, Float-Free Automation
Unlike other roller mat filters that rely on float switches or optical sensors to advance the filter roll, the RollBot uses a smart time-based interval system. That means there are no moving sensors to fail, no calibration, and no interference from salt creep or water turbulence.
Out of the box, the RollBot is set to advance 200mm of filter paper every 24 hours, keeping your water consistently clean. Want more or less? Simply click the middle button 1 to 20 times (each click = 100mm/day), then press the top button to confirm. The system will flash back your setting so you know it’s locked in.

This Roller Mat Filter is specifically designed to fit in the overflow chamber of the Waterbox all-in-one nano reef tanks. This roller mat works with the Waterbox 10 cube, 20g cube, 15g peninsula, & 25g peninsula.
Roller mat filters are a popular and effective piece of filtration equipment that is exclusively used in the sump tanks of larger reef systems. Roller mat filters are popular because they are low maintenance and very good at removing small waste particulates from the water before they break down into Phosphate and Nitrate in your reef tank.
This Waterbox nano reef roller mat is a prototype that is constantly getting tweaked and upgraded so each order will vary slightly from the pictures above. All of the roller mat filters are hand-made and assembled using acrylic sheets and 3d printed parts. Each Roller Mat will have some slight flaws/imperfections due to the 3d printing and assembly process but this will not affect performance.
